LAYAWAY:
JC Photography always offers a layaway program for every portrait package (prints and session fees), as well as events.
How It Works:
* A $25 non-refundable deposit is required for portrait layaways. A $150 non-refundable deposit is required for event layaways.
* Payments can be made weekly, bi-weekly or monthly for up to 60 days on portrait packages. This timeframe may be extended upon special request.
* Event layaways must be paid up to a 6 month period.
* Payments may only be made in cash or check for layaway.
PORTRAIT PARTY HOSTESSES RECEIVE A FREE PHOTO SESSION & PRINT PACKAGE!
Yeah, that’s right! You can WIN a FREE PORTRAIT SESSION with package, and sitting fee included. How? Host a portrait party. It can be at your place, or anywhere you think would be suitable. In the warmer months, we can even set up outside, at a park, garage, or your own back yard!
WHAT IS A PORTRIAT PARTY?
We’ve all heard of home parties for candles, jewelry, and baking supplies – now is your chance to host a home party that is truly unique! Quality professional portraits are something that your guests will treasure for a lifetime.
Portrait Parties are an exciting opportunity for you and your friends to have professional portraits made in a fun and affordable way. If you are the host/ess, Portrait Parties will take place in the comfort of your own home, garage, back yard or other suitable locatoin.
The host invites between 3 and 12 families to the party and for their hard work, receives a FREE FULL PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION that includes a package. It is a low stress, fun opportunity to have beautiful portraits made of yourself or your children in a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere. Photos can be of adults, families, children, pets… whomever, but they will have a time limit to approximately 15-30 minutes each. No selling will occur at the party, unless guests would like to place orders while there. You and your friends will just get together, have some light refreshments after the photoraphy sessions, and enjoy each others company, all while having professional photos made of you and your loved ones. Hostesses are not required to have refreshments or activities. It is optional.
HOW IT WORKS:
Contact us at jmconnor@fairpoint.net or call (207)342-2382 to check for availablity of dates and times. We will find a date that works well for you, and our schedule. the host/ess invites a minimum of 3 families, individuals, groups who would like a 15-30 minute mini-photo session. The host/ess provides the location, coordinates the hors’doeuvres (if desired), drinks, activities (if desired), the guest list and scheduling the 20 minute session times. The host/ess is responsible for confirming RSVP’s prior to the party, and reporting to JC Photography approx. how many people are expected.
Just a tip: It works best if the host/ess provides each guess with a slightly different arrival time, that is staggered in 15-20 minute intervals. This way, guests are not left standing around waiting, or feeling antsy.
After the portraits have been taken, the host/ess will be preseted with a gift, as a way of saying “thank you” for hosting a JC Photography Portrait Party. We will then give your guests the opportunity to sign up to host their own portrait parties.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO, IF I HOST A PORTRAIT PARTY?
The Portrait Party is coordinated by the party Host/ess. Hosts invite guests, coordinate the bringing of snacks and drinks (if not providing themselves, or not- if it is decided that no snacks will be provided) and the scheduling of the mini-sessions. Successful hosts follow up with their guests with reminders and to ensure that every session block is filled. JC Photography will email a sheet with time slots that will help the hostess know which time slots are still available.
After portraits have been taken, the host/ess will direct guests to a place where they can enjoy snacks, beverages, and each others company. Again, snacks and activities are optional.
After the party, the guests will visit a website, where we will provide to view their portraits. The host/ess will follow up with their guests to ensure they have placed their orders within 10 days after the party. After all guests have ordered, the hostess will then be able to schedule their FREE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION, and claim her FREE PORTRAIT PACKAGE (1 8×10, 2 5×7′s, & 8 Wallets) when guest sales reach a minimum of $50. In terms of space, we will need space for setting up our backdrops and lights ~ preferably a living or family room, OR provide us with an outdoor setting appropriate for portraits, weather permitting.
WHO CAN BE IN A PORTRAIT:
Anyone! Teens, tweens Expectant moms, brand new babies/infants/toddlers, kids of all ages, grandparents, businesses who want their employees pictures taken, cats, dogs….If you want them in your portrait- bring them! We recommend groups of no more than 5, if possible to keep it simple.
WHAT IS A MINI-SESSION LIKE?
A mini portrait session is a condensed version of your photography session compared to the full session, without changing the quality of the portrait and without skimping on the exceptional customer service we provide to our clients. We do not compromise quality just because it is considered a mini-session. Arrive at the portrait party dressed for the occasion, and ready for your portraits. We will help pose you and your family. Mini Sessions last around 15-30 minutes. Backgrounds for Portrait Parties are usually Plain White, or Plain black. Props can be added if a theme is chosen, so hostesses should let us know which theme is desired.
For Hosts and hostesses, we recommend choosing a theme. Some popular themes are:

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME? WHAT DO I GET FOR HOSTING A PARTY?
With a minimum sale of $50, the host/ess will receive a FREE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION AND PACKAGE just for hosting a party. The package is:
1 hour of photographers time and talent
Studio style or Location shoots
Editing including: blemish removal, lighting, color correction, etc etc.
Enhancements including: Soft Focus, Soft Glow, Black and White, Sepia Tone, Vingettes, etc.
Creation and sitting fees included
Choose 3 sheets:
One sheet is the equivelant to:
1 8×10 OR 4 4×6′s
2 5×7′s OR 8 Wallets (see INVESTMENT page for a visual of what a “sheet” looks like)
Only one pose per sheet. May choose up to four poses total.
A value of $95!!!!!!!!
If sales exceed $100, the hostess can then earn extra credits toward additional JC Photography products. Example 2: If guest sales total $175, the host can get either 3 25% discounts on 3 seperate items, or combine the three percentages, and get 75% off the 11×14 mounted and preserved portrait!
I AM ATTENDING MY FIRST PORTRAIT PARTY! WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
You can expect to have a blast! Your host may ask you to bring a snack or beverage to share, and will be sure to let you know what color the backdrop, or what the theme will be for the party so you can dress accordingly. When you arrive, you will fill out a Portrait Party Guest Form. The form will ask for things like your contact information, and such.
After your portraits have been taken during your 15-30 minute time slot, you will be directed to an area with refreshments and drinks to enjoy while you visit with other guests, if this is what the hostess decides upon, and most of them do. After everyone’s portrait sessions have been taken, the host/ess will be presented with his or her reward for hosting the party, the guests will be asked to bring home some Refer-A-Friend cards, and if they would like to host a portrait party of their own, to have a chance at a FREE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION & PACKAGE of their own!
In some cases, the photographer can display the images on the hostesses television, if it is HD compatible. This allows guests to see the unedited photographs. Orders may be placed at the party, or can be placed online within 10 days after the party.
Guests will leave the party with a website address, and a password to view their edited portraits, and choose their order. JC Photography will send an email to let guests know when photos are ready, with the link to your photos gallery and password- just in case you misplaced it. Your portrait portfolio will be online for 14 days, and during that time you will need to place your order by telephone or email. We will include an order form in the email to help you make your purchases.
Please thank your host and let her know when you have placed your order online since she won’t be able to schedule her FREE PORTRAIT SESSION & PACKAGE until everyone has placed orders.
Important Note: Please let your host know if you will not be able to make your scheduled session. Your host has put a lot of effort into your portrait party please be courteous and let her know you’d like to be invited to the next party!
